Improving the critical care environment

It was back in 2011 when Gerasimos Defteraios co-founder of KD Synergy with Prof. Dimitris Georgopoulos and Director of the ICU in the University Hospital of Heraklion, decided to cooperate and jointly develop an electronic medical record (EMR) for intensive care patients. With the close cooperation of the ICU caregivers at the University Hospital of Heraklion, two years after CritIS EMR was born. CritIS had such a success that within a short period the ICU of the University Hospital of Heraklion become paperless.

By September 2014 CritIS gets installed in the ICU of Athens Naval Hospital, while the interest from other hospitals in Greece and from several countries abroad makes more urgent the need to establish an infrastructure scheme with the ability to finance further developments, provide support and promote CritIS to other countries.

In the following years CritIS is istalled in the ICU of Larisa General Hospital, the Pediatric ICU of the University Hospital of Heraklion, the ICU of 251 Airforce General Hospital, and recently at the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of Athens Naval Hospital.

This need led to the establishment of KD Synergy with vision to promote CritIS in other countries providing at the same time high quality technical support services. Moreover, having established a close cooperation with the University of Crete further enhancements of CritIS are planned to make it even more competitive and expand it into other related healthcare fields such as operating rooms, anesthesiology, etc.

At KD Synergy we are driven from the following belief: make it easy for users to get in touch with technology.
